Overview

The Graduate Program in Neuroscience at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMC) was established in 2006 as an interdisciplinary faculty collaboration.  Currently, 42 faculty members from 15 departments at UMC participate in the Program.  The mission of the Program is to provide comprehensive training in modern neuroscience with an emphasis on clinically relevant research.  It is jointly supported by the Department of Psychiatry, the Center for Psychiatric Neuroscience and the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is directed by Dr. Ian A. Paul.  Research funding at UMC is very strong with some 45 neuroscience investigators receiving over $5 million per year in NIH funding.
